With their venue booked, Pinterest boards overflowing with inspiration and the details for the big day falling into place, many soon-to-be newlyweds look forward to planning their honeymoon.
In a recent study, The Knot surveyed more than 900 respondents and discovered that almost 30% of couples planning their honeymoon opted for a mini-moon, or a shortened trip, in place of or before a longer traditional honeymoon.
Eighty eight percent of those surveyed chose to travel domestically for their mini-moon.
Here are three romantic travel destinations worth considering for a mini-moon or honeymoon.
New York City
Manhattan makes for a different kind of island honeymoon. New York City is a nonstop adventure and a mecca for fine dining, art, culture and relaxation — New York City spas are in a class all their own.
What to do: Spend your days strolling hand in hand through Central Park, ride the boat to Coney Island, museum hop and snap selfies together over the High-Line in Chelsea. Get dressed up for a Michelin-star meal and splurge on tickets to a Broadway show.
Where to stay in New York City: As home to four (soon to be five) Hilton Grand Vacations resorts, The Big Apple offers several Manhattan properties from which to choose, each with its own sleek city vibe.
Sanibel Island, Florida
Plan a Florida Gulf Coast honeymoon for a laid-back romantic getaway. Sanibel Island, located just west of Fort Myers and the last stop before Captiva Island, allows newlyweds to bond as they explore 15 miles of untouched beaches, 25 miles of bike paths and a selection of charming local businesses, including restaurants, shops and museums.
It's just the place to slow down and embrace island time while celebrating with your better half.
What to do: Park your vehicle at the resort and leave it there. At just 33 square miles and zero stoplights, all you need to explore this quaint coastal town is two wheels and a couple of pedals. Bicycle rentals are available on the island, including at select resorts.

Good to know: The nice thing about staying on Sanibel Island is that once you've crossed the causeway into Sanibel, you can easily also enjoy Captiva Island without needing to go back to the mainland.
Park City, Utah
If you're planning a winter wedding or mini-moon, Park City, Utah is arguably one of the best vacation destinations for couples. It offers all the beauty and energy of a low-key mountain town, combined with a flair of sophistication.
For summer honeymooning, Park City is adventure central for couples who love the outdoors. However, this historic mining town's natural beauty makes it an ideal place to cozy up year-round.
What to Do: Park City is alive during the summer months with festivals, outdoor concerts, hiking, fishing, mountain biking and horseback riding. During winter, this snow covered wonderland offers access to every snow sport imaginable. In addition to outdoor activities, Park City boasts incredible dining and opulent spas.
Where to stay in Park City: Inspired by its natural surroundings, Sunrise Lodge, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club blends rustic architecture with modern elegance.
Good to Know: Park City hosts the annual Sundance Film Festival in January, and film buffs the world over flock to the area.
